ACT Conflict Resolution Institution held a virtual meeting on Zoom with the title of The Arbitral Tribunal and the Arbitrator’s responsibilities in accordance with the Arab Arbitration Rules and the UNCITRAL Comparative Rules. The discussion hosted Architect and Consultant Manahee Alanzee, member of the Board of Trustees of the Permanent Arab Court of Arbitration and a member of the Committee of Media, Finance, and Sciences. The host gave an introduction on the Arab Permanent Court on Arbitration and discussed the characteristics of contracts and the UNCITRAL law.
The discussion also hosted, The Secretary General of the Permanent Arab Court of Arbitration, Mr. Sufyan Al-Ahmadi from the Kingdom of Morocco, as the main speaker on the arbitral tribunal and the arbitrator’s responsibility. In which he discussed how to choose the arbitral tribunal and the conditions for accepting them.
The meeting that was managed by Mr. Mohammad Hadieh, the executive manager of ACT Conflict Resolution Institution, with help from other experts and enthusiasts from Palestine and other Arab countries (Iraq, Syria, and Libya) who contributed in making the meeting stand out by expanding the discussion and varying expertise by discussing in-depth questions and interventions.
To be noted that this meeting is part of series of meeting in the conflict resolution program. This program is a strategic program carried out by ACT Conflict Resolution Institution with its goal to publishing and spreading the knowledge of resorting to alternative means in conflict resolution using negotiation, arbitration, and mediation. The second goal is to train and prepare negotiators, mediators and arbitrators, and resolving conflicts through mediation and arbitration in the institution.
