مشروع تعزيز المشاركة المجتمعية في حل النزاعات

مشروع تعزيز المشاركة المجتمعية في حل النزاعات
16 April 2021

Project Description

The project implemented by the organization with the support of UNDP seeks to develop the infrastructure at the organization’s new headquarters, so that it can receive more arbitration cases and provide broader legal advisory services. It also aims to test the community mediation guide by promoting it in the media, holding seminars and training courses on the types of mediation it includes, and presenting it to entities and individuals working in the field of community reform.

It also aims to expand the participation of young researchers in the fields of arbitration by issuing the second issue of the Arbitration Journal. This project also seeks to enhance the confidence of lawyers in resorting to arbitration as an alternative to the courts operating in Jerusalem. The Corona pandemic has provided new opportunities to enhance regional and international cooperation, and from this standpoint, the organization will continue to develop its relationships and partnerships with regional and international mediation and arbitration institutions and experts, by holding electronic seminars and opening opportunities to benefit from regional and international expertise in this field.

Project goals

1. Strengthening the institution’s arbitration and mediation units and developing them to be able to expand the scope of its services to institutions and individuals, in accordance with the best regional and international standards.

2. Testing the community mediation guide to suit the prevailing social and cultural environment in the Jerusalem Governorate and developing it in accordance with best regional practices.

3. Media awareness of citizens about the dangers of escalating violence and crime.

4. Developing cooperation with regional and international arbitration institutions.
