Nablus – ACT Institution for Conflict Resolution conducted a specialized training on mediation as an alternative tool for dispute resolution, within a training program organized by the Legal Incubator of the Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at An-Najah National University, held at the incubator’s premises.
The training was delivered by Mr. Mohammad Hadiya, Executive Director of ACT, who presented the concepts of mediation and its importance as an effective means of resolving disputes amicably and swiftly. He also addressed mediator skills, the stages of the mediation process, and mechanisms for managing it professionally, with a focus on practical applications in various legal disputes.
The training included interactive exercises and simulated mediation sessions designed to enable participants to acquire practical skills in communication, dialogue management, and negotiation between disputing parties. It concluded with a mock mediation session that allowed participants to apply the skills they had gained in a training environment simulating real-world practice.
The program witnessed active participation from the pioneers of the Legal Incubator, who engaged with the training content by presenting practical cases from their own experiences and discussing challenges related to dispute management. This contributed to strengthening their applied understanding of mediation mechanisms and its role in reducing reliance on litigation.
This training comes as part of ACT’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of mediation as one of the effective tools for enhancing civil peace and reducing conflicts, thereby contributing to building a more cohesive society capable of managing its disputes in civilized and sustainable ways.
