Jerusalem – As part of the “Women for Dialogue” project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France (the French agency for international technical expertise), in partnership with Holy Land Trust, ACT for Conflict Resolution, the Jerusalem Center for Women, and Tomorrow’s Women Association, two training sessions on empathetic listening were conducted for the ACT group in Jerusalem. The sessions involved 17 participants and were led by trainer Lama Abu Arqoub from Tomorrow’s Women.

The training was grounded in the principles of deep listening and empathy, providing a safe and supportive space for participants to express themselves freely and build genuine connections.

Through interactive exercises and guided meditation sessions, participants practiced techniques of active listening, learning how to be fully present in dialogue, listen without judgment, and respond with empathy. The sessions also emphasized the importance of self-awareness and emotional presence, helping participants to better understand their own feelings as well as those of others.

The training highlighted that empathetic listening is not merely a communication skill, but a transformative approach that fosters dialogue, builds trust, and empowers women to voice their perspectives in an environment of respect and inclusivity.

Participants also gained practical tools for handling difficult conversations and building meaningful relationships, contributing to stronger bonds within their communities.
