ACT Institution Hosts Specialized Session on AI Skills for Legal and Arbitration Fields
ACT Institution for Conflict Resolution, through its Arbitration Forum, held a specialized two-hour session titled: "Skills for Using Artificial Intelligence in the Legal and Arbitration Fields." The event saw wide participation from legal professionals, arbitrators, and experts interested in the digital transformation of legal practice.
The session hosted Counselor Dr. Essam Maurice Farag, Vice President of the State Lawsuits Authority and Chairman of the Technology and Skills Development Committee at the State Lawsuits Authority Sports Club. The discussion was moderated by Eng. Hesham Anwar, Project Management Consultant and specialist in construction disputes and arbitration.
The session explored several core pillars regarding the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the legal domain. Key highlights included AI’s role in creating a qualitative shift in legal research by analyzing vast amounts of judicial precedents in record time. Additionally, the session reviewed AI’s potential in the smart drafting and review of contracts, regulations, and legal memos with enhanced efficiency and precision.
Furthermore, the participants discussed predictive analytics and the utilization of machine learning (ML) algorithms to track legal trends and forecast case outcomes. The session also touched upon AI applications in arbitration, specifically regarding procedural management, scheduling, and the evolving horizons of international e-arbitration.
A significant portion of the session was dedicated to the ethical and professional dimensions of AI usage. This included challenges related to algorithmic bias, the protection of client data privacy, and ensuring the responsible use of these tools in alignment with established legal and professional standards.
