ACT for Conflict Resolution has conducted a specialized training on arbitration skills targeting a group of young graduates in Jerusalem, as part of the project “Career Bridge: Enhancing Employability of Al-Quds Youth”,which falls under the umbrella of the Al-Quds Program and is funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC). This training comes as part of the organization’s efforts to strengthen the role of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms and open new professional pathways for Palestinian youth.

The training sessions started in October and concluded in November, with a total of 40 training hours delivered by Ms. Mai Abu Ghazaleh. Participants were provided with a comprehensive understanding of arbitration as one of the main mechanisms for dispute resolution, with a particular focus on related judicial and practical applications. The training addressed several key topics, including: the fundamental principles of arbitration, developing skills in drafting arbitration agreements, familiarizing participants with arbitration proceedings, and enhancing practical skills in managing arbitration hearings up to the issuance of the arbitral award and the mechanisms for its ratification and enforcement.
