ACT Implements Mediation Training as a Tool for Peacebuilding with Support from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs
ACT for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) has launched a specialized training program titled "Fundamentals of Mediation", as part of the project "Mediation as a Tool for Peacebuilding", with support from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. The program aims to strengthen the capacity of youth and community actors in resolving conflicts through peaceful and constructive means.
The first training session was inaugurated by Attorney Mohammad Hadieh, who delivered a comprehensive introduction to the concepts and practical foundations of mediation, along with real-world case studies illustrating mediation's role in conflict reduction and the promotion of a dialogue culture.
The program includes 40 hours of core mediation training, targeting a diverse group of young people, professionals, and individuals interested in mediation and peace. It is designed to enhance participants' negotiation skills, deepen their conceptual understanding of mediation mechanisms, and equip them with practical tools to engage in peace processes more professionally and effectively.
This training aligns with ACT’s broader strategy to institutionalize mediation as a key tool for peacebuilding within Palestinian society, and is implemented in collaboration with international partners to promote the values of tolerance, mutual understanding, and peaceful conflict resolution.
