Final Workshop Marks a Milestone in Regional Strategy Against Religious Hate Speech
On August 19, 2025, ACT, in coordination with the Regional Network for Reconciliation and Forgiveness in the Arab Region, held the sixth and final session of its regional workshop series aimed at dismantling hate speech rooted in religious narratives.
With the participation of 26 experts, civil society actors, academics, and religious leaders from across the Arab world, the workshop focused on finalizing the action plan, including clear definitions of roles, responsibilities, and implementation steps.
The session was also an opportunity to showcase success stories that emerged throughout the process—particularly the expansion of the initiative’s reach, with new networks being formed, dialogues initiated, and innovative grassroots initiatives currently in development.
One of the most notable outcomes of the session was the formation of a regional advisory group tasked with providing feedback on the strategy and supporting its future phases. This group will serve as a key platform for sustained coordination, learning, and engagement across the region.
This workshop marks the conclusion of the first phase of a long-term regional effort to counter hate speech based on religion. It also lays the foundation for continued action, collaboration, and transformation.
ACT and its partners remain committed to driving this work forward—toward a region where diversity is respected, and hate has no place.
