ACT Foundation Holds Advanced Mediation Training for the First Time in Palestine
The ACT Foundation for Conflict Resolution organized an advanced training in mediation in strategic partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Justice and and with support of the Sawasya III Joint Programme through UNDP PAPP
The training took place over three consecutive days from June 1 to June 3, with a total of 20 training hours in Ramallah. It was attended by various specialists in conflict resolution from different sectors. The training was led by Mr. Mohammad Hadiya, a lawyer, arbitrator, and mediator with extensive experience in the field. The focus was on developing advanced mediation skills, alongside practical training and simulation of different types of disputes in the field of mediation.
On the third day of the training, a mock mediation session was held as a practical simulation, with Palestinian Minister of Justice, Judge Sharhabil Al-Za’im, acting as a mediator alongside Mr. Mohammad Hadiya. The aim of this session was to demonstrate the practical stages of mediation to the participants, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge practically.
The Palestinian Minister of Justice praised the efforts of ACT Foundation in promoting mediation and arbitration as effective tools for conflict resolution, emphasizing that such training helps build the capacities of legal mediators and strengthens Palestinian legal institutions in the field of out-of-court dispute resolution.
For his part, Mr. Mohammad Hadiya emphasized the importance of applying mediation in the Palestinian judiciary, pointing out that mediation is one of the effective solutions that help reduce the burden on courts and accelerate the litigation process.
The training concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the participants, with an emphasis on the continued effort to strengthen and develop mediation and arbitration mechanisms in Palestine, contributing to building a more stable and secure legal community.
The ACT Foundation expresses its gratitude to all participants, partners from the Ministry of Justice, supporters of the Sawasya III Joint Programme through UNDP PAPP and everyone who contributed to the success of this training. The foundation reaffirms its commitment to providing specialized training programs aimed at developing and enhancing the legal and technical skills of specialists in mediation and arbitration.
