Commencing the 20-Hour Advanced Mediation Training Course
On the road towards achieving change, growth, and proceeding to present the knowledge necessary for developing the field of mediation. ACT Conflict Resolution is pleased to announce the commencement of its advanced mediation training course. This course represents a vital step towards enhancing mediation skills and increasing participant’s awareness of its importance within the Palestinian society.
The advanced training course in mediation has begun on Monday the 16th of October 2023. It comes as a part of a project titled: “Time to ADR in East Jerusalem” conducted by ACT Conflict Resolution, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, and with the support of Swasiyah Program Palestine.
This training is provided for 20 consecutive training hours divided by 7 intensive training sessions. The training has drawn a vast variety of participants from multiple fields of expertise. That includes: lawyers, legal consultants, judges, arbitrators, academics, researches, and human rights activists.
Advocate Mohammad Hadieh, who is an accredited lawyer, mediator, and arbitrator, is leading this exciting training course by sharing his wide expertise in the field of mediation. The training course covers important topics as in: understanding the nature of mediation, the goals of mediation, and the main principles of mediation.
The topics of this exciting journey expand to include the development of necessary skills to manage all of the following: preparation sessions of the mediation process, individual mediation sessions, and finally, joint mediation sessions.
Training participants are able to navigate the intricacies of the mediation universe while learning the know-hows of asking constructive questions, and summarizing the conflict effectively. Moreover, they are learning the methods of building trust with the parties of the dispute as well as reinforcing communication with them.
The focus of the training is not limited to the theoretical aspect of mediation alone, quite the contrary; trainees are exposed to the practical element of effective negotiation and transforming the parties’ solid stances into satisfactory solutions that consider public interest.
