ACT Conflict Resolution highlights mediation techniques in the seventh session of the Mediation Forum.
On Monday, 3-10-2022, the ACT Mediation Forum hosted its seventh virtual meeting with Dr. Fatima Ibrahim from Egypt in a symposium entitled "Pluralism of Mediation Methods" in the presence of 31 participants from Palestine and various Arab countries, moderated by lawyer Mohammad Hadieh from Palestine and lawyer Faten Ben Al-Amin from Tunisia.
Dr. Fatima Ibrahim presented an overview of the role of mediation and its advantages in settling disputes, as well as the specificity of mediation and the difference between it and the rest of the other A.D.R., indicating that mediation is, as a friendly means of settling disputes, one of the basics of our human instinct that is based on affection, interdependence and communication.
Dr. Fatima Ibrahim also touched on the concept of mediation, arguing that there is a lack of a unified definition of mediation world wide, adding to that there is a big diversity of its methods. A quick overview of the mediation methods was mentioned from that: the mediation of the wise consultant, the mediation based on traditions, the mediation of settlement, and other methods.
