The roundtable discussions continue within ‘Qadaya 2’ project in partnership with Heinrich Boell

Within the chain of the roundtable discussions that are attended by a group of Jerusalemite Youth participating in Qadaya 2 project, which is run by ACT Conflict Resolution in partnership with Heinrich Boell Stiftung office for Jerusalem and Jordan. ACT hosted Mr. Ala’a Mahmoud, the political consultant for Palestinian affairs in the American Consulate of Jerusalem. During the meeting, Mr. Mahmoud presented the role that the Palestinian affairs department and its role with the Palestinian officials and the future steps that will be taken by the new American leadership, like the re-opening of the Consulate’s office in Jerusalem and the refunding of UNRWA.

Many questions were asked by the participants for Mr. Mahmoud about the US political policy regarding the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict and his assessment for that major changes that will happen regarding the Palestinian case and especially the issue of Jerusalem, in light of the completely biased policy that was taken by the previous American leadership that fully supported Israel.

The meeting was distinguished with frankness clarity and was straight-to the point,  it also expressed the maturity and education of the Jerusalem youth regarding the Palestinian case.

It should be noted that this meeting will be followed by a series of other meetings that will be joined with diplomats and politicians, both Palestinian and foreigners with the goal of teaching how countries behave in the international platform and expressing its international relations.
