ACT Conflict Resolution Institution and the Center for Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies sign a memorandum of understanding.
ACT Conflict Resolution Institution represented by its executive manager Mr. Mohammad Hadieh, signs a memorandum of understanding with the Center for Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies in the Arab American University in Jenin. The Center for Policy and Conflict Resolutions Studies was represented by Dr. Eyad Yacoub, Chairman of the Board of Directors in the center, with the presence of the center’s Director, Ms. Rula Shahwan. The signing took place in the Universities head quarter in the Rihan on Sunday 13/6/2021.
The memorandum’s signing comes in the effort of achieving a joint collaboration and increasing the use of Mediation, Arbitration, and Negotiation as alternative means for resolving conflicts. In addition to increasing the interest in theoretical and practical studies and researches, and developing cooperation with centers specialized in conflict resolution and with universities.
Both sides agreed on immediately starting the planning an annual work plan to activate the memorandum of understanding and work to enhance cooperation and partnership in the implementation of permanent and continuous activities aimed at deepening the social understanding of conflict and the tools for dealing with it.
Mr. Mohammad Hadieh, executive director of ACT, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the efforts done by the Center for Policy and Conflict Resolution. He also expressed the importance of the Masters program in Conflict Resolution in The Arab American University, and thanked Dr. Dalal Erekat, Vice President of the University for International Cooperation on her support for this cooperation. Dr. Eyad Yacoub, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed his interest in strengthening the collaboration and cooperation with ACT Conflict Resolution Institution through this memorandum.
