ACT holds a round table meeting entitled Jerusalem and the Palestinian elections
ACT Conflict Resolution Institution held the second round table discussion with the title being Jerusalem and the election of the State of Palestine 2021. The participants in the discussion where made up of 17 activists from Jerusalem and was hosted through Dr. Waleed Salem. Assistant Professor Dr. Waleed Salem research co-worker and member of the Board of Directors institute in Jerusalem University for research and studies and managing editor of Almaqdeseye magazine that is issued by the university.
The discussion showcased the decision taken by President Mahmoud Abbas on the 13th of January 2021 about law number 1 for the year 2021 that was modified from law number 1 of the year 2007 on the Palestinian elections. Followed by a presidential issuance that specified the date of the election on the 15th of the same month. In which the issue of the Palestinian elections, which was last held 15 years ago, would be resolved.
The discussion included the recent events and uprising happening at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem that showcased the solidarity and presence of the Palestinian nationality in the city.
To be noted, this discussion is the second from eight discussions in the project (Qadaya 2), that is carried out by ACT Conflict Resolution Institution within the political analyst program that is supported by, Heinrich Boll Stiftung Palestine and Jordan.
