Workshop on Preserving The Crime Scene and Strengthening Criminal Justice - Tubas

In partnership with the Palestinian Police Force, ACT Conflict Resolution held a workshop targeting the civil society in The City of Tubas on Sunday the 22nd of January 2023. This workshop aims to provide the proper measures to be taken by the first witness of the crime incident to preserve the crime scene.

This workshop revolved around two important topics, the definition of crime and witnesses role on the crime scene. The first topic also included the necessity of documenting all proceadures and occurring changes in the scene. 

The second topic discussed digital crimes and the digital crime scene. Here, the definition of digital crime was specified along with its properties, characteristics, and motives for committing digital crimes. Moreover, the reasons of committing such crimes. There was an indication of the duty of specialized units in pursuing criminals and tracking them in order to deliver them to justice. Finally, recomendations and guidlines were provided to the attendees to prevent this kind of crime activity. 

The workshop was concluded by providing the chance for the audience to ask questions and open discussions about these issues. Their notes did show a high-level interest in details relating to the crime scene and how to deal with seized items and contacting the concerned authority.
